We Completed Our First Fundraiser Raffle with Great Success

Panhandle Search and Rescue is proud to announce the success of our very first fundraiser raffle! From August 29 through September 27, our team set up at the Chipley Walmart, selling raffle tickets for the chance to win a shotgun—and thanks to our incredible community, we raised $1,400 in support of our ongoing mission.

Every ticket sold represents more than just a donation; it’s a commitment to keeping our community safe. The funds raised will go toward vital equipment, training, and resources that allow our volunteers to respond effectively when every second counts.

This fundraiser follows the success of our earlier event on September 5, where Panhandle Search and Rescue held a one-day raffle that raised $1,002. During that event, our team was also able to put their emergency response training to use when a woman suffered a head injury in the parking lot. Our members acted quickly—providing first aid, keeping pressure on the wound, and offering shade until EMS arrived.

Moments like these highlight why we do what we do. Whether we’re in the field searching for the missing or serving our neighbors during an emergency, our mission remains the same: to be there when our community needs us most.
